Pintail Snipe (Gallinago stenura) is a probable rare winter passage migrant in Haryana. This bird is found in wetlands and near irrigated cultivation.    Order: CICONIIFORMES    Family: Scolopacinae    Local Name: Chaha    Size: Quail+

Identification: Straight long slender bill. Dark brown above streaked with black, rufous and buff. Whitish below. Outer tail feathers, short and stiff. While heavier and darker, the Pintail Snipe is difficult to separate from Common Snipe in the field.
