Early morning, in inactive state,
I take in a bracing breath,
A cup of coffee and a window view,
Hope to capture morning hue.
Instead, see a group of tots,
Hands in pockets, heads hanging low.
Walking to school, in a pace that's slow.
What a pity! their faces devoid of glow.
Rain or winter, they fight the weather,
The heavy bags fagging their shoulder.
The growing pressures, the increasing competition;
Can't live upto parent's expectation.
After school, the swimming class,
Followed by the tuition and dance...
Will I get a bike, if I succeed?
Or face the wrath, if failure comes?
The parents promise a perfect life,
Will they ever actualise?
Won't they clarify their goals?
And loosen their tight held controls.
Would it give them bigger brains?
A better IQ, EQ and cognitive gains?
Hand them over some peace of mind,
And 'set them free' as the wind.
